about us
Catherine Kiani is the founder and CEO of the Society Against Feline Abuse. SAFA Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2014 with the mission to rescue kittens and cats from abusive homes, euthanasia, and other cruel establishments.Although some no-kill shelters are doing admirable work, there are high population areas that receive more animals than they can hold. Many kittens are killed in this situation, as young as a few weeks old.
After rehabilitating the cats, SAFA helps to find them new home. So far, we has successfully rescued 32 cats and have given many of the felines new homes.
We also emphasize the importance of rescuing instead of adopting from breeders. Before bringing the cats to our sanctuary, SAFA neuters/spays the cats and takes them to a veterinary clinic to ensure their health.SAFA is located on a ranch in Santa Ynez, California. Boasting with a spacious outdoor garden and vast interior, SAFA's residents live joyfully. With an enormous oak centered in the outdoor space, the cats enjoy climbing and the pleasures of life that all felines should have.
Approximately 3.4 million cats are euthanized in shelters each year. SAFA foundation is standing up to this atrocious statistic by doing something about it. You can too.
